ZULULAMI HOUSE 2

Situated on the North Coast of South Africa this design is a modern interpretation of the vernacular architecture of the area. The design captures the inland forest views while the cantilevered slab offers protection from the harsh elements.

Construction due to start late 2020

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

"Architecture should speak of its time and place, but yearn for timelessness"   Frank Gehry

This statement together with a human-centred design focus forms the foundation of our designs at Urbis Architects.

The interaction between the end user and the design form takes high priority. With the diverse culture in South Africa, these interactions vary and allow for interesting spaces to develop. Light, views and volumes within these spaces help to shape the end result rather than a predetermined style.

As a result, our buildings are bespoke and relate positively to the client's requirements, topography and bio-climate while always striving to be timeless
